Our General Online English Program

General Online English Program seeks to improve students’ English skills in a great variety of different settings. Students develop communicative competence for social and work-related environments through interactive activities simulating real-life situations. Language skills addressed include: listening comprehension, fluency development, pronunciation, oral intelligibility, reading, grammar, writing, and vocabulary development.

General Online English Program is offered at 3 level: Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced.

Our General Online English Program Description

Our General Online English Program includes 5 areas of language competency that are vital for effective communication:

1) Vocabulary Building  

2) Grammar

3) Speaking / Listening

4) Pronunciation

5) Writing / Reading

Vocabulary Building

Students will be exposed to new vocabulary in context (rather than in isolated word lists that have no meaning or connections to their world). Our specifically designed gap-fill exercises will allow students practice the new vocabulary in different contexts and broaden their understanding of the words’ meaning range.

Grammar

Students will review advanced level grammar which will allow them to improve their written and spoken accuracy. This will help them function more efficiently and feel more secure in their everyday communication.

Speaking / Listening

Utilizing a variety of classroom speaking activities will help students speak and listen effectively using the new vocabulary and grammatical structures and increase their communication skills.

All speaking exercises that include role-plays, presentations and discussions recreate real life scenarios.

Pronunciation

Students will identify their pronunciation difficulties and increase their accuracy in producing more native-like American English. The class will also focus on reducing students’ foreign accent, improving the speech rhythm, intonation and stress in conversational English.

Writing / Reading

Reading helps students to see how English is communicated through writing, which is why a good writer is also a good reader. Students will have special reading comprehension activities in the classroom that will help them understand the words in written context,  while enabling them to get the most out of their reading assignments.

Students will analyze the text, practice and improve their writing skills in various writing assignments that include email messages, letters,  and essays, while reviewing and correcting necessary grammar and vocabulary.
